...never look at website home pages?

I know that's frequently the case for me; I never look at the TVT home page, the Wikipedia home page, etc..  Heck, I don't even have a home page set on my browser; it's set to about:blank so that my browser loads faster.

    Yeah, I never look at TVT's home page, or Wikipedia's, or IGN's,...
  • I wouldn't say never.
  • I am the exact opposite. My TV Tropes bookmark is the homepage. My Wikipedia bookmark is the English home page. I have a homepage, it's iGoogle, but I haven't actually used its features since late high school/early college.

    I'm a bit confused: If you don't use TVT or Wikipedia homepages, where do you start for those?

    I technically also have an iGoogle homepage, except I never use it.

    For TVT, I usually start with one of the following:
    * thread watch
    * article watchlist
    * ykttw flagged items

    If I want to go to a particular page, I just type in "Main/", use the drop down menu, then delete whatever's after the slash and replace it with what I want.  Or also delete the "Main/" part and replace that with the namespace I want.  I never have to even see the homepage for any of this.

    For Wikipedia, I have a Wikipedia search plugin that just lets me type "wp [word]" and then I get a search for [word], going straight to the article if possible.
  • You can change. You can.
    Well, normally, the browser bar in google chrome allows me to use the search engine for the site I'm going to use without having to use the home page.

    With that said, it depends on the site. I read, say, Unrealitymag's main page because it's the page in the site where you can acess all the recent updates.

    This, but with pitchfork.
