    Also I only ever saw the first ending to Portal, I was told they changed the ending for Portal 2 to make sense.

    I wanted to discuss Portal without pony spam...

    Anyway, I think GLaDOS extinguish the candle of the cake at the end,not because she is hurt or anything. I think it's just that you just incinerated her cake core so she doesn't care anymore about it. If you notice,in Portal 2 there aren't almost any cake jokes. (Okay,that's because the developers were sick of them,but it needs an in-story reason)
