Sometimes it really is hard telling sarcasm from sincerity.

Joking Mode, however is just there for the half-witted, no-brained imbeciles who are too dumb to tell a hyperbole from an actual insult.

Meh, on wiki pages I see it less as explaining the jokes and more as potholing everything, as with the rest of the wiki.

It's mostly a bomb-diffuser to guarantee people don't take you seriously. Honestly, I'd rather have that than someone flipping out over a sarcastic statement and having to be told that that it wasn't serious.

It's more that almost everyone seems to be in at least some level either joking or facetious when commenting on the internet. It might be just me.
