If there's a character in comics I can't get behind, it's this one.
Popular mystique has it that Richie is the 'poor little rich boy' story: one who has a good deal of money but no family to speak of, but the comics contradict this with his father being around and being a pretty great guy. This removes a good deal of any conflict being rich can be, especially when he goes to his poor friends and instead of buying the fuckers a house and maybe not having a floor made of solid fucking gold he asks why they can't sew up the holes with hundred dollar bills. The only interesting thing about Richie is his inability to understand the non-rich which makes him more of an oblivious fuck who doesn't appreciate how well he's got it made than a charmingly clueless goofball.
