People who pretend Sonic 4 doesn't suck
Comments
"The furry jokes were all obviously tongue-in-cheek. Don't make me think thou doth protest too much."
Pah. I like my jokes to be actually funny, thank you very much.
Fine. I'll laugh.
Also, stupid physics are stupid, and I think that given how many videos about Sonic 4's physics have been made, Sega would definitely pay attention if they had half a brain.
IJBM: Sonic threads always involve lots of drama.
Yeah, that kind of bugs me too. If I was qualified to make a "judgment" about the Sonic series, or at least about people's reactions to it, I would say that sometimes people (especially certain game reviewers) exaggerate how bad recent Sonic games have been in terms of playability and want the franchise to go back to something that was not its focus in the genesis games (i.e. focus on speed). I wonder if Sega has listened to those kinds of arguments too much as of late. I do not honestly know.
Still, if one wants to see evidence that Sonic Team is making (or has made) other games that people like, I guess you can point to the Phantasy Star Online series.
On the topic at hand,
"Coz we gave up?"
Doesn't sound like you've given up.
Colors is a step in the right direction, I'll give it that, but it isn't the return to glory classic Sonic fans want.
Also, shut your whore mouth. Sandopolis Zone was awesome.
Oh, you mean this?
The Sonic boards on IGN deserve credit for that reaction image, not me.
Abyss_Worm,
What would consist of a return to glory anyway?
Yep, I think that really is the big question. I mean some people certainly seem to suggest that going back to "Sonic only" gameplay is one way to do that, but I wonder if that change mostly ignores the gameplay issue. Plus, while Sonic style gameplay was in the older games, there still were some other playable characters.
On the other hand, I guess there is the gameplay element, but I have yet to see much agreement there about what makes good Sonic gameplay aside from maybe some stuff about camera angles. From what I can tell, some critics focus on speed above most everything else while others criticize that as "hold right to win" silliness. However, I do not think the second type of critics' preferred gameplay is crystal clear either unless it just boils down to re-releasing Sonic 3&K with more levels.
In any event, I think that both sides can unite in making fun of Sonic 2006 and its associated memes.
Last summer, I met them for the first time in 8 years.
We knew what we had to do before summer's end.
Finally, after years of failure, we obtained all the chaos emeralds.
After 20 years, Eggman felt the wrath of Super Sonic.
"But suppose it was a real game."
It is now.
Also, I might add that I haven't played Sonic Generations yet, but the Modern levels look so much more fun than the Classic levels. Perhaps there's a message in all of this.
