"Teruiogsa"

This word is so useful, English should have something like it. It's like a very strange mix of "irony" and "schadenfreude".

  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
How about 'That was ironic but also schadenfreude-filled.'?

    ...no, doesn't really work.
  • Actually, "Teruiogsa" does not exist.

Well, it exists only in my conlang, Kron.

It means, roughly, "The feeling you get when you laugh at someone for being in misfortune....and then have something bad happen to you".
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
    Karma?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
    Too specific for common use.

It would be one of those words that only linguists and logophiles.
  • One foot in front of the other, every day.
Sort of karma, but I think it's more like "Well, I deserved that".
  • Somewhat.

As might be heard in a Kron chatroom (translated into English):

    Pluto3: Man today sucks
    Ak-48: What happened bro?
Pluto3: I laughed at some chick in my class for lighting herself on fire in Shop
Pluto3: Then I went home and got myself lit on fire with my flamethrower
Ak-48: Ah, that's some serious Teruioagsa
Pluto3: It's not funny I'm in the hospital for this shit

    [2 Day Later]

    Ak-48: SHIT BRO
    Ak-48: IM IN THE HOSPITAL
    Pluto3: WTF did you do?
Ak-48: I CUT MY LEG OFF WITH A LASER SAW
    Ak-48: OH FUCK IT HURTS
Pluto3: Haha, that's some serious Teruiogsa right there
Ak-48: SHUT THE FUCK UP FAGGOT
    Ak-48: IT'S NOT FUNNY
  • No rainbow star
So in other words, "Man, I deserved that!"?
  • Yeah. It comes from "Teru" (Misfortune) and "Iogsa" (Irony) in Kron.

The Kron are like the Russians. They have gone through a lot of shit. And have very schadenfreunde-laden humor.
