I managed to get a shiny Tangela once.

As for Bidoof, I actually kept mine around for almost all of Platinum, and not just as an HM slave.

I got two shiny Dittos in a row via chaining in Diamond, a Shiny Sandshrew in Sapphire, a Shiny Quagsire in Silver, and a Shiny Watchog in White.

There were "shiny hunters" around the Serebii forums. I've seen someone get up to like 35 Shinies.

I'd assume it would involve lots of trading. Kind of like hats in TF2.
