"The word 'weaboo' is racist."
Okay, the word IS really stupid and all, but when was it racist?
Comments
Words change meanings with time. I'm talking about "Racist",not "weeaboo"
(MUAHUAHUAHAUHAHhAHAHHAHUEHE)
"Weeaboo" is a stupidly silly word, but that doesn't make it racist.
What the.....that's not where it comes from at all, right?
The people I am talking to apparently have never heard of Perry Bible Fellowship.
I don't intend to cause drama with this thread, by the way. I wanted to ask you guys if you thought the term was racist yourselves.
The guy thought it was racist because he assumed it was formed from the dated racist term "jigaboo" for black people.
I showed him the comic.
He said it was still racist.
He then said the word "wapanese" is racist, because it was formed from analogy from "wigger", and therefore "weeaboo" is also racist.
...You're dealing with either a troll or an idiot. Either way, give up
>Wigger: Wannabe Nigger
I think,I may be wrong though
"You know that "wapanese" is widely used, right?
If weeaboo's synonymous with "wapanese", then it specifically refers to whites.
It discriminates whites by putting it so their interest in Japan (granted, even though big) is specifically bad; ergo, it's racist."
Actually, three whole people think the term is racist. They're all conlangers/linguists too.
Give me a better reason to sympathize with the plight of those poor whites, why don't you?
Seriously, why are 95% of the reasons for supposed white discrimination so pathetic or thinly veiled supremacy?
Or would that be importing drama?
Admittedly, the implication that the person who got called weeaboo being white isn't always there, but it often is, and when it is, see above.
Why? The type very much exists and is incredibly irritating. Yes, the name is silly but, weaboos are silly too.
just stop using it?
These my be the wisest words I ever read here.
