Mainly how fascinating it is.

  • You could visit their website.
  • I've been mostly watching documentaries on youtube.
  • ^Now that's just unsettling.

The FAQs. I was snerking the whole way through.

If I was capable of invisibility, intangibility, the ability to understand Korean perfectly and teleportation, I'd spend a lot of time visiting North Korea and writing about what I observed.
  • I don't even think it's the "people are STARVING" part that intrigues me. It's the sheer cultural isolation. What they think. What they're allowed to think. What the higher ups believe to be true.

  • Clean your room little Billy

    Hehe, oh you.

I'm reading an interesting book about the Kim dynasty at the moment, Under The Loving Care Of The Fatherly Leader. Both fascinating and terrifying.

    Kichigai birthday!!

"Can I work in North Korea as a teacher/interpreter/(other)?

    No."

    That's harsh...
  • But you never had any to begin with.

    17. I hear that North Koreans are very poor. Is this true?

By international standards, DPRK citizens enjoy a very high
standard of living. In Socialist Korea, the state guarantees all
citizens the right to quality healthcare, education, stipends for the
disabled, retirement pensions and access to recreational facilities,
as well as a wide array of other state-supported services. Indeed,
DPRK citizens are guaranteed many provisions that are uncommon in many
developed capitalist societies, which are home to real poverty. Unlike
in many countries of the capitalist world, the DPRK is a state free of
    homelessness, unemployment, prostitution and starvation.

There's no lying there at all! Whyever would you think that?!

  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
  • Kichigai birthday!!

Why is Korean's Godzilla poster in Japanese?
  • North Korea is interesting to me in the "can't look away from a car crash" kind of way. And that their website is hilarious because of all the incredibly obvious propaganda in it.
  • Printing is imperialist! In Socialist North Korea, we write with quill pens! Using our own blood!

  • Just be sure not to bleed on your mandatory portrait of Kim Jong-il or we'll send you to the Happy Fun Amazing Unity Camp.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
I read somewhere that Kim Jong Il's face is everywhere in NK except for the money, because people are not allowed to touch him
  • But you never had any to begin with.
What amuses me is that the site store actually labels most of the items "Propaganda".
  • Kamen Rider MADOKA
Just be sure not to bleed on your mandatory portrait of Kim Jong-il or we'll send you to the Happy Fun Amazing Unity Camp.

Aren't they more likely to have portraits of both the Great Leader and the Dear Leader...

OH SHIT NORTH KOREA'S BEHIND SHOCKER
