What annoys me is that it's a good game made by three people who can't agree exactly what that game is.
Akira Yamaoka wanted it to be a haunting romantic-horror-tragedy which is why the music doesn't fit the games general attitude, having spooky ethereal music that doesn't quite gel with the rest of the game.
Shinji Mikami wants to make a quirky action adventure game with quirky fun.
Suda51 wants to make dick jokes and satire about human nature by reflecting it in hell.
It's a good game, but I really wish they tried to be more connected with their themes.
