Spam e-mails that try to target you with "local" information...and suck at it
So lately I've been getting a few spam e-mails that have something along the lines of this format:
Subject: [my meatspace house number and street name]
Message:
Hi [my meatspace first name],
[message saying that the government or Obama is handing out grants, and I shouldn't miss out. Message includes digg or google-bombed or otherwise directed link.]
[random firstname and lastname]
[house number] [street name]
[my hometown], [my state] [my zip code]
----
It's really hilarious when the street that "person" gives doesn't even exist in my town.
@evergreen: This is what caused me to search for "Seashell Drive" in my hometown, which resulted in the creation of that other thread.
