Tyra Banks' fantasy novel, Modelland
Featuring a plain girl whose name is "Tookie de la Creme" who wants to become an "Intoxibella", a beautiful queen bitch of a society with an economy run on fashion.
Which is apparently getting a movie deal.Sorta disappointing on a few levels. First, that this idea was conceived of. Secondly, that it's Tyra Banks. It would be interesting to have a book like this written by a more critical-minded model for the purpose of criticising the fashion industry.

>"Modelland," Tyra's new young adult novel for teen girls, follows a
girl named Tookie De La Creme who gets invited to attend an elite
modeling school called Modelland..the most exclusive school in the entire world, the school that creates
the most amazing supermodels called Intoxibellas."
So...it's Harry Potter, but with models?
The elements of this clusterfuck of psychosis could very well coalesce into the unintentional cult comedy classic to end them all. Or it could be just terrible, but I remain optimistic.
I totally expect 11-12 year old girls to eat this up though.
I still love SPACETRAVEL!'s version of the story. Sheer brilliance.
You know, I want to think this is weird or whatever but... I kinda don't. I mean, I'm sure it'd suck, but the premise itself doesn't really bother me.
It's one thing to hear about how idiotic the premise is, but how about actually figuring out what it's about? Be warned: it's as bad as you've heard.

So this does nothing but prove that modelling is not a career but a mental disorder?
