I have reason to believe that the music of The Beach Boys is half the reason I can barely talk to women nowadays.

This occurred to me upon reading this thread:

Basically, it says that the music of The Beach Boys is thoroughly sexless and puts women and romantic love on some of the biggest, most idealized pedestals ever conceived, probably because the band's most important creative forces were all sexually maladjusted for various reasons.  It's absolutely right; just listen to any lyric concerning girls that the band ever put out, even in their glory days. And I've been listening to it nonstop for at least a year now, most likely internalizing every drop of it.

Clearly, I need to start listening to The Beatles again.

TL;DR: I like The Beach Boys, but they sure as hell don't like me.
