I've been playing too much Eden Eternal

And it's not even that great of a game.

Well, it's decent, it's got nice 3D graphics which sometimes get in the way of seeing stuff (I'm in Rainbowfall Forest and this is a HUGE problem), but there's not that much special about the quests--it's just kill X number of these enemies or collect Y amount of that item and then talk to NPC Z.

The biggest draws for me are:
* exploration: discovering new sights, new areas, new backstory, etc.
* completionism: this is reinforced all too well by the fact that every mission has some easily accomplished albeit somewhat boring set of objectives, which just makes them cause "a little bit more" syndrome way too damn well.
* cooperation: helping people run dungeons is fun, even if I have to tell them to not kill themselves.

The biggest drawbacks for me are:
* my taskbar must be auto-minimizing.  I can set the window size to 800x600 but then it barely fits everything on the interface.  So I have to use 1280 x 720 and my 768 can't fit the two (or even one) line of taskbar comfortably.
* completionism via small tasks is addictive.  I now have a great case study of how revealing little by little and in small easily-accomplishable chunks is highly effective.
* junk filling up my backpack and bank.  I do want to ask, is there any good reason to keep the monster-summoning pots or the miner's hammer from the very first dungeon?  What about Mori's Horror Ring?

Anyway, I should probably stop playing it so much.  By that I mean stop playing it altogether for several days.

    Really, Cygan?  No responses?
  • $80+ per session
    I'm considering downloading this.

Hey, sorry, Glenn. I have a life occasionally :P Plus, I'm kind of sick.

And I missed this thread >_>

There is absolutely no reason at all to keep the monster-summoning pots. You're meant to summon the monster and kill it. The rewards are fairly good sometimes, and you can use them to test out your skills.

Once you've outdated a weapon, sell it. It's worthless from that point on.

Ah, I hope you feel better soon.

Anyway, the problem is that shopkeepers don't want my miner's hammer.

Other things that I like and don't like about this game:
    - unable to packrat.  Very limited storage space.  Should I even keep unique items like Mori's Horror Ring?  I'd definitely like to.
    - unable to trade useful items to other people.  Can't trade monster pots; can't trade armor and weapons once you've used them.  The only useful thing that you can give to other people is some of the fetchquest items, such as fresh pork.
+ the female character models are vaguely cute.
    - in some places, if you stand around, you get attacked by monsters.  And you don't automatically fight back either.  Your only ways to avoid that are to either switch to Thief and use your invisibility watch cloak or go back to town.
+ however, you can turn adjust music and sound effects separately.  So you can still hear when you're being attacked, without listening to the same two minutes of music looping all the time.
+ And thankfully the music isn't half bad either.
    - still doesn't feel like there's a good overarching plot to all this.  It's like all I'm doing is fetchquests and supposedly helping random people out, and gradually clearing out missions one area after another.

It's sometimes rather hilarious when you realize that the NPCs just stand around and maybe wander idly and are supposed engaged in some plot but don't actually do anything other than, attack and/or talk to you.  Gotta love how Dark Marsh Traitor Grey Voice just stands there, between two groups of Dark Marsh Gangsters, and none of them even bat an eye, even though supposedly he's hiding there and being pursued by the Dark Marsh gang.

Also, some of the script has grammar issues.  Though I'm not too surprised since there's probably a huge fuckton of script in the game.

There's a bank in Aven where you can deposit items.

I'm already counting the GG Bank.

Then I guess you shall just have to save up and buy more backspace space.

Or I could kill off the 18 monsters whose summoning pots I have.

Is there anything useful i can do with them other than kill them?  Is there a way to prime them for rare items, or maybe help out a newbie player by partying with them, summoning the monsters, and co-op killing them?

I can only relate to you my experiences, sorry. There's not exactly a Wiki I can go to to find out, and I don't touch most forums.

The Wikia EE wiki and Aeria's own EE wiki actually seem to be substandard to GGFTW's EE wiki.
