I think we discussed this once regarding the original version of this forum...the restriction isn't 30 users total, it's that you can (supposedly) only have 30 users online at one time. A quick check of Heaper's Hangout's user list reveals 56 accounts (a handful of which are sockpuppets, but the software doesn't know that).

And FWIW, their detailed plan comparison lists "unlimited users" as a feature of the free plan.

Oh. That's a lot more reasonable. I don't expect what I'm thinking of would ever have more than 5-6 online users at once.

IIRC, it was mentioned that they won't actually prevent more than 30 users at once, but they will start pestering the forum's creator to give them money if they consistently get more activity than is "allowed".
