Manga Reading Direction Syndrome

Because of the sheer amount of it i've read from right-to-left, I now have trouble reading comics from left to right.

I refuse to read more than 1224 pages of a comic like this.

Curse you, bad habits!

  • It's not that hard to get used to. And 8-bit theater is awesome, so you'd be missing out.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
No big loss. 8BT stops being good very quickly and doesn't recover until the end.
  • I can switch back and forth relatively easily.
  • I remember reading 8BT for hours a few years ago, so it's probably decent enough to keep me entertained.

Now the problem is that i've been trying to go from left to right for an hour now and my eye still hasn't changed at all.
  • Don't worry about it.
  • I have problems trying to find the next panel sometimes if I don't read diagonally for Manga. I haven't adapted the style perfectly when it comes to wordy Mangas like Higurashi or Darker than Black.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
The things that bugs me is western authors (i.e weeaboos in deviantArt) doing this. Look kid, you are not japanese, so stop doing that. Unless you are Arab. Then guess it's okay
  • Eh.  That's at least tolerable.  Mostly because I'm used to it, so it's not really any harder to read that way.

What is a problem is when people make a comic in English, and use vertical speech bubbles like in manga (because of course, text in manga is written vertically, so it makes sense there).  This just results in tons of wasted space and awkward line breaks and such.  This happens in translated manga, of course, but it's acceptable there mostly because there's really no alternative.  It's still kind of annoying though.
