Why I hate American cartoons, in a nutshell

On another forum: "Hey, did you know there was a Pole Position cartoon?" "Really? Cool. Can't say I cared much for the game, but that cartoon must be a nice change of pace. A sports theme, the drama of being behind the wheel and on a race track, the cars the high adrenaline the sports-world politics... I bet it made for some interesting viewing. Let's see what the Amazon description says..." from Amazon.com
Dan and Tess Darret are professional stuntmen whom learn from their Uncle Zachary, that their recently deceased parents were government agents working within the secret organization "Pole Position." Just as their parents, they are called to be part of this organization. They are equipped with two high-tech talking vehicles nmed Roadie and Wheels. Get ready for some fast paced fun & adventure. Get ready for, Pole Position! DVD Contents: 2 Discs featuring the entire series (13 Episodes)
*facepalm* Later that day... "Hey, did you know there was a cartoon about Super Dave Osborne, the famous daredevil?" "Oh cool. That sounds like an interesting change of pace. The thrill of being a stuntman, the corporate shenanigans, the rivalries, the backseat deal-wranglings, and the dangers involved in actually pulling off a stunt..." The cartoon is actually about Super Dave stopping comic-book supervillains. *facepalm* Later that day "Hey, doesn't MLP season two premiere in two days? So far this show has been a nice change of pace. Cute girls having adventures in and around town that deals totally with personal relationships and living together with only a few divergences into villain-fighting territory. I wonder what the new episode is gonna be about..."

And this is why I don't make any presumptions that liking one item in a medium or even a genre is likely to mean that I like the medium or genre.

It seems like the cartoon producers got way too much mileage out of They Fight Crime back in the 1970s and 1980s. I have to wonder if part of it was the endless copies of Scooby-Doo that H-B cranked out back in the late 1970s, or people ripping off G.I. Joe and Transformers (which really were about comic-book super-rivals; they were both as much Marvel's babies as Hasbro's), for that matter.

I'm answering this here since its more relevant to this thread than the one it was actually asked in:
I don't have any idea what you're referring to. What is Super Dave, and why is this relevant to the point you're trying to make?

    A lesson in pattern analysis:

Guy brings up show, points out it could've been about anything but instead its about guys fighting crime.

Guy brings up different show, points out it could've been about anything but instead its about guys fighting crime.

Guy brings up one last, very recent show, which until now hasn't been about guys fighting crime but seems to be veering that way.

Question: what could he possibly be trying to say?
