Yeah, you know what I mean.

You got that one AA battery left and you actually need two for your remote control. This is why you curse out that handheld radio or flashlight that uses three.

As for C batteries...I haven't seen anything requiring them in a long time. I do wish they'd be used more often instead of D batteries though because you can often cheat and use AA batteries in place of C batteries (they're the same length, C is just fatter)

I prefer D batteries to C batteries, though, because their input/output is on the same side and they're smaller.

I think you're thinking of 9-volt batteries. D batteries are the ones that are like C batteries but bigger.

As a kid I was confused by how nine-volt batteries were substantially smaller than both six-volt and twelve-volt batteries.

It said to hook up the wires to a AA, but I hooked it up to a 9-volt instead. I ended up with a rather large gash through my palm and two of my fingers. [/CSB]

Incidentally, I associate 9-volt batteries mainly with smoke detectors and those cheap toy walkie talkies that you go through three sets of as a child.

Frankly I prefer batteries over lithium ion batteries because I don't have to keep around a charger (I have way too many fucking chargers) and have a socket open for every one of them.

Here's a bit of trivia for you: Some brands of 9-volt battery (though not all of them, mind you) actually consist of 6 AAAA batteries connected together.
