    > ^^ Heck, he has Moe right in his name, and as we all know, only PAEDOPHILES like Moe things!
    > So dealing with Paedofinder is a lot like sitting through the second half of The Vision of Escaflowne -- I need to be sure to pack painkillers.

    Fixed your spelling.

@MoeDantes: Search youtube for "paedofinder general" and you'll see what the whole character is about.

Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.

Painkillers can do anything! They're like God!

By the way, a few more things to add to the "Things I hate" list:

Modded Consoles - Because I've owned three of them (a PS1, PS2 and a Turbo Duo) and only one of them worked fine (the PS1)--the other two started having problems almost immediately and needed to be sent in for repairs, and the PS2 so far seems totally unsalvageable. Word of advice: If you wanna play import games, its better to actually own a Japanese system.

Rap music - I just don't get the appeal.

The 2002 version of He-Man - You know how everyone bitches about DBZ being just endless fight scenes and the original He-Man was a thirty-minute toy commercial? Well, the 2002 version actually is both of those, in a very literal way, and didn't even have compelling plotlines or good characterization or anything else to make up for it. The art was nice, but that's pretty much the only noteworthy thing about it.

Milk - I think I'm allergic to it.

Money - Because I never have enough of it.

the price tag on Udon's Street Fighter graphic novels - Seriously, they want $50 a volume. I mean, they're long volumes and there's only two of them, but $50? That's ridiculous. The really sad part is, from a brief skimming they actually seemed good. Note: at Amazon, they're $37.49, which is a bit more reasonable, but still.

That Michael Jackson is dead - Artists that talented shouldn't be allowed to die. Especially on the verge of a major comeback. Death sucks.
  • I had a modded PSX and PS2 that both worked fine.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!

    Okay this one is reasonable.

Admittedly, I sent the Duo off to be repaired and when it came back, it worked a lot better... but oddly enough had developed a case of Japanophilia (it doesn't have a problem with Japanese hucards, but it always glitches American ones--the console itself is American, mind). The same guy who repaired it the first time is gonna run tests and see what's wrong with it.

I'm gonna ask him if he can repair the PS2 as well, as all that seems wrong with it is the laser--it keeps losing the read on the discs. But with PS2s especially I don't trust mods--the console is fragile enough as it is, and modchips have a tendency to make things worse.

Even so, my experience has taught me: If you're gonna get a modded console, keep an unmodded console around just in case.
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
You're lucky to have the chance to mess around with console modding.

    I don't even have consoles.

That said, if you wanna play import games, I suggest emulation instead.
  • Kichigai birthday!!
I have a modded Wii and works fine.

    inb4 "filthy pirate"
  • Creature - Florida Dragon Turtle Human
How about "Right and Honourable Pirate", since I don't like region coding in the first place?
  • "Rap music - I just don't get the appeal."

    >Talking about rap
    >Referring to it as a genre and not the singing style it actually is

Unlike the first post I actually agree with most of your new points.

No,I'm a filthy pirate because I use it to play vidya free.

Though I may download the Japanese version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom, since I've heard it has actual animated sequences.
  • no longer cuddly, but still Edmond
Oh. I use mods exclusively to play imports.

I was about to say "believe it or not, I've never pirated" but I think playing games via emulation counts as piracy. Though, I only use emulation as a preview personally--I don't actually like playing games that way, not for moral or legal reasons, but because I hate that mindset emulation puts you into--you download one ROM, suddenly you wanna download more and more, and soon it becomes more about downloading the roms than actually playing them.

Then again, I have a similar issue whenever I get into comics (which is why I avoid them), so it may just be a peculiar brand of OCD on my part.

Odd that you feel that downloading ROMs is a slippery slope toward downloading more ROMs, since I went the other direction from emulation to buying actual games.
  • But you know how reliable anecdotal evidence is.

Well, I watched a few Paedofinder General sketches.

I'll be honest: I didn't find them funny. Not at all. Mostly because I think they're way too close to reality.

    a little muffled
That's kinda the entire point of satire?
  • no longer cuddly, but still Edmond
It is, but sometimes it hits just a little too close to home, ya know?

FWIW what bothers me is that I actually know people who think like Paedofinder General, and they're not funny. They're scary.
