Retail stores and change for the sake of change
So the local Meijer store has been under renovation for a couple months now.
In the back corner of the store is the dairy section. For the 10 years or so that the store has been open, milk and eggs have been on the north wall and other dairy products (yogurt, sour cream, etc.) have been on the east wall.
Now they've moved it so milk and eggs are on the east wall and the rest of the dairy section is on the north wall.
It's driving me insane, not because it's different--I'm already used to it--but because I cannot figure out what purpose flip-flopping the two coolers was supposed to serve. Especially given that the surrounding aisles have been left more-or-less unchanged.

Chances are it boils down to "they think they can sell more dairy products that way", although I can't quite see how that would work. Shops have a tendency to mess around with the location of the different products regularly; it irritates me too because it makes it harder to find stuff.
