Malk can't clothes shop.

MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
So I decided to go clothes shopping for winter and autumn clothes today and budgeted myself $150. Surely that would be enough to get a few nice shirts and another pair of pants.

Here's what I look for in winter clothes.

1)Keep me warm. Duh.
2)Utility. I like shirts with lots of deep pockets because generally I carry on me my cell phone, keys, ear phones, deodorant, (because I walk everywhere you see) my 3DS and games, and a paperback. As you can see, I like to have those things all on me.
3)Looking good. I'm something of a fashion retard but I like to think I know how to dress myself to look good in spite of fashion trends.
4)Price duh.

Price is one of the big issue. Every time I saw something nice looking, the price tag would discourage me away. The 'nice' stores didn't have a lot that appealed to me. Honestly, who knew dressing like a total douche bag was so expensive?

Another issue is that my arms are so damn long. Medium sleeves generally leave a good section of my arms bare and larges tend to be too baggy and even then don't cover my arms to my comfort level.

Then there's how stores will mislabel things and then act like I'm the prick because I decide not to buy something that was twice the advertised price. Gee, thanks.

In the end, most of my stuff was bought at target. I got a lot of stuff that looked pretty darn similar to the stuff I liked in the brand stores for about $50 less on each item, though the sleeve problem was still there. Also, none of them had gaudy brand labels plastered all over them.

    Sounds like a good result?

As good as can be expected. I wanted to shop somewhere other than Target but when a single hoodie is $100+ you don't give me a lot of options.
  • I hate clothes shopping too. D; Most shirts are big enough for me to swim in and same issue with the pants. I can't find anything in size 0 that isn't ridiculously expensive, ridiculously colored, or ridiculously tight, because they'll only make skinny jeans that small and not just comfy pants.

Man, fuck clothes shopping. It's much more fun to get video games. D; And snackies. DX Why can't clothes shopping be at least not boring?

I just wanna buy boysweats the rest of my life, sometimes.

    ^^
I have no idea about the chainstore Target but I feel your pain regarding overpriced clothes.

I went shopping for a few new pairs of jeans when I first was at uni, I found a nice looking shop went in and was asking about them, the cheapest pair of jeans they sold were £100.

I left the store, went to a different part of town got some fashionable jeans on 3 for £30.

Sometimes stores are just expensive and shit.

Oh, and so many jeans have all these goddamn gaudy attachments and garish bright colors on them. It's like an entire generation is being forced to dress like eight-year-olds.

Also skinny jeans are uncomfortable and show off how knobby my knees are. >_>
  • Ugh, I hate the ones that come with tacky belts fused on, or sequins, or pre-torn stuff.

I do a good enough job tearing them on my own.
  • $80+ per session
Clothes shopping is like my favorite thing to do.

^^Pre-torn is such a baffling idea to me. I get the fashion statement aspect, but why pay ten bucks more for what you could do with a fabric cutter? or just falling on the sidewalk a couple times?

I just want long bootcut jeans that aren't too dark blue.

    It should be simple.

    This so much.

    Has friends besides tanks now
I know that feel, bro. The only place I ever used to like getting clothes from was Hot Topic, but they don't sell shirts for any good bands anymore. If I want a neat Lostprophets or Pig Destroyer or Protest the Hero shirt, I'll have to look online. :<

And I considered skinny jeans at some point, but I figured it was too late to break the mold. Maybe I'll try different fashions in college.

But with that being said, I don't think I ever got nearly ripped off as bad as $50 on a single clothing item.

I've considered selling my old ripped pants. Should at least break even, right?
