Scry 2

So, for cantrips with Scry 2, the options are either Preordain or Serum Visions. The only difference is that Preordain makes you draw after the scrying instead of before. I've seen it mentioned that Serum Visions gives you more information, but even then I think it's pretty apparent that Preordain is better since it lets the draw from the card avoid up to two crappy top-decks. In spite of that, I've seen Pyromancer builds with Serum Visions, which is a little confusing to me considering the other options available. Granted cantrips are very nice with the deck, but I would have thought after 12 better cantrips already in the deck, Serum Visions wouldn't make the cut. Maybe I'm mistaken, but I imagine it could be frustrating to draw into a card you can't use with a card that could have been a counterspell..

  • Yeah, fuck that guy.
  • You can change. You can.
Just use the Sensei's Divining Top and don't worry about that shit.
  • a little muffled
Sensei's Divining Top is banned in Modern, and Ascension decks want as few cards as possible that aren't instants or sorceries anyway.

Preordain is better than Serum Visions, and so is Ponder probably. Gitaxian Probe vs Serum Visions is a bit trickier.
  • I figure a combo deck that wants to cast as many spells as possible can really make use of a card that gives you a peek and a cantrip for no mana.
