According to Cracked, we're running out of water.

Now, I'm not stupid enough to trust Cracked as a reliable source of information, but I have to admit that this list is a little worrying.

I find the other examples more concerning, to be honest.

I can live without chocolate, tequila, and helium balloons, actually. It's medical isotopes, phosphorous, and especially water I'm concerned about.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
^I was refering to the medical isotopes and phosphorous. In a water shortage, we could handle by eliminating some of the wasteful uses of water we insist on in current society.

^ You mean like not drinking our own piss?
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
^I mean like not insisting on using most of it on gardens and lawns because they're just so darn pretty.

Or just moving to someplace that doesn't have as much lawnspace.  Such as a condo.
  • Or just hoard water in a water processing facility like the reservation is doing.
  • Or just invest in more resource and cost efficient ways of making sea water potable and distributable.
  • Or you could stop being stupid enough to trust Cracked as a reliable source of information.
  • I remember back in fourth grade some guy came in making an analogy that a bottle of water was all the water on the Earth, but a capful was the amount of water we could use, and it was running out fast. Even back then, I didn't really believe it.

We can desalinate water. It's not cheap at the moment, but it's doable. In fact, if you live in El Paso or Tampa Bay, you're probably drinking water that came from the ocean.
  • More people demand water than the machines can possible desalinate without lining the entire coast with desalination facilities.

And people are wasteful, unlike me.
