Scientists use colloquial language (namely "trick") in e-mails to each other. OMG! Proof that global warming is made up from people who couldn't be bothered to read!
On a less "Awe" note, this is yet another annoying case of the media misrepresenting science and ignorant people trying to make themselves seem smarter / morally superior. Even less awesome is that people swallowed this crap.
