Lolicore

We Played Some Open Chords and Rejoiced, For the Earth Had Circled the Sun Yet Another Year
In essence, lolicore satirizes the obsession with hypersexualized young girls found in select Japanese manga, anime and J-pop idol culture by recycling samples and music from this subculture into abrasive collages that highlight the “wrongness” of a genre bordering on softcore pornography for pedophiles. Obversely, there are artists who use the music to extol pedophilia, using the same methods to play homage to individual paraphilias.

Lolicore is characterized by heavily distorted, high-pitched loli vocals, 8-bit extreme tempos, frequently accompanied by techno beats, songs often lasting no more than two minutes (some are seconds long), and vocals which consist of little kids moaning and high-pitched screams. “Lyrical themes” range from lolicon to Japanese culture and every thing in between. Fast drum beats provide, along with the use of samples, a constant barrage of noise. Lolicore has influences from both Speedcore and House, mainly adding samples from anime and Japanese shows/artists to the mix. Something lolicore artists are also known for is their weird names; for example, JAPSHITFUN and Lolishit.
