The UK Citizenship Test

Practice test link here if you want to see if you are Citizen material.

The questions are hardly relevant to being a UK citizen, there should be less about dates that divorce was legalised or % of the population being Muslim and more about the general culture which is more relevant for a citizen.

I'd be hard pressed to name a natural citizen who would know half the stuff asked in the text.

    This justifies illegal immigration.

Illegal immigrants wouldn't be able to take the citizenship test straight away, this test is for naturalisation anyhow.

It's too hard. Illegal immigration is completely necessary.
  • I wear a Stetson now. Stetsons are cool.
I'm British and I failed the test. Why any immigrants would want or need to know most of that is beyond me. There are a few questions that could potentially be useful, like the one on speed limits, but most of it is just pointless.

Exactly, make it relevant and cultural rather than dry facts and statistics no-one would know unless it was in their profession or leisure spheres of interest.
  • OOOooooOoOoOOoo, I'm a ghoOooOooOOOost!
Just like the US test. The purpose isn't to make sure they're prepared to live in the UK. The purpose is to avoid giving out citizenships.

It is kept confidential from the public (although the stats based on it aren't), although the FOI act means I'm sure you could find out most of the non personal details and stats.

'Attend' hospital is different to 'go to' it means unless in emergency circumstances (A&E) you go to your local doctor and he will refer you to a hospital unit. (Excluding if stuff like the STD clinic is part of the hospital, as you can make appointments there without referral.)

So it you had a chest pain you:
Go to GP> He diagnoses/refers you to cancer unit at hospital> you are now attending hospital.
