So I was just thinking about the fact that Monster, 20th Century Boys and Vinland Saga all seem to have smaller fanbases than Naruto's. I died a little inside.

At least I hope it does well in the Western world, it does seem like a movie that appeals more to American and European tastes

Which is why I am watching it after I finish the Death Note manga and the Higurashi VNs.
The notion of underappreciated works just bugs me because it seems people just pick a definition that allows them to claim their favourite work is underappreciated regardless of how much acclaim or raw audience statistics it actually has. Most of the time, I constantly hear about a work that is supposedly "underappreciated".
Though I am more accepting of the term if people use underappreciated as the relative term it is rather than as an absolute.
