Like I'm not responding to other people so much as I'm responding to my own thoughts. It's difficult to describe or stop doing it. In before someone makes a thread complaining about the word "monologing".

    Eh, not sure how to help you there besides say this:

    Shut up and let the other guy talk for a bit. Talk about something you're not a buff in if that helps.

    If you remain aware of yourself and make a conscious effort to not talk so much, it'll eventually stop being a habit.
