I spent good money on that stuff! Why can't I take it off before I bury them?

  • Mr. The Edge goes to Washington

In Grandia 2, when that guy dies, you basically get all the ability points and blah that you spent on him (not that you needed it all back. But it was kind of a lame way for the game to handle his death. "Oh, Your Guy is dead, here is all the potions, gold, MP to heal him with, and everything else you used on Your Guy during the course of the game so you don't lose anything in the gameplay."

  • I can deal with losing items I used on the guy, but him taking his expensive ass armor and weapons to the grave with him is just annoying.

Well, they usually are unequiped at death anyway, but I know what you mean. Equipment is one thing. I was just bringing up Grandia 2 as a bizzare example.

  • I never sell equipment in RPGs anyway, unless I have an item limit or something.  But yeah, I can see why this would be annoying.

Fun fact: in Final Fantasy Tactics, when [Gafgarion] betrays you, he keeps his equpment and such that he had before for the duration of the fight.  You get it back as a reward from the battle, though, so that you don't lose it.  If you manage to steal any of his equipment during the fight, though, you'll still get it as a reward for the fight, in addition to the one you got from stealing, so you'll end up with two copies of whatever item it is.  Not that that's particularly useful.  Anyway, any other time someone leaves your party (due to the story, at least) in that game, you get their equipment back normally.
