IN THE MOVIE THEY WEREN'T ALLOWED TO SHOOT THE APES

AND THIS IS WHY GUN CONTROL AND ANIMAL RIGHTS IS A BAD THING

Wait, did you guys actually see the movie? I don't want to give anything away here, but I don't see where these complaints are coming from if you actually saw it.

I thought the film was epic, by the way, but YMMV.

spoilers: the police do shoot at the apes, even using some kind of minigun from a helicopter at one point. But Ceasar manages to totally outflank them by using the fog on the golden gate bridge to conceal the fact that the apes were moving over and beneath them..

Unless they get control of harrier helicopters and the ability to firebomb I'm not buying it.
  • More spoilers: They don't need to. By the time the movie ends, humans have much much more to deal with than some escaped Apes.

So basic flanking tactics defeat superior ballistic firepower, armor, and numbers.

You're not doing this movie any favors.

In the books the Apes were smart enough to do that.

The situation isn't nearly as bad as you're painting it to be. It's not like the Apes are invading Norad or anything, they're just trying to cross the Golden Gate Bridge against a completely unprepared human opponent.

I'm not really going to go into any more detail here, as you seem pretty committed to the idea that it's a bad plot. I'll just say that it worked well from my perspective, we can agree to disagree, and call it a day.

If they have any form of automatic weapon they're prepared enough. Never bring a spear to a gun fight.
  • I'm a damn twisted person
How does apes crossing the Golden Gate bridge go to apes taking over the world again?
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
The intelligent chimp virus is for humans very lethal and goes and causes a global pandemic.
  • Seriously, I would recommend to anyone that this is a film worth paying full ticket price for. Best film I've seen since Inception, and I go to a lot of movies.

Rotten Tomatoes even gave it an 84%. The critics love it, and for good reason. It pretty much has everything I would want in a film.

So wait, how did the Apes regress in tech after taking over? They had virtually all of the infrastructure intact!

^^ I don't really know. I think this is a franchise reboot, so everything is up in the air as far as how the storyline will go in the future of the series.

It definitely does NOT appear to be in continuity with the 2001 Mark Walberg remake, by any means. Nor the original series.
