    Well, R-Types, R-Type Delta, and R-Type Command are still in the US PSN store, and I dunno what happened with Europe and Japan's stores. Either the news misread any sources or they're using rumors as basis for their news.

    I've read that Irem is making a pachinko game for the 3DS, and that the list in the link doesn't include all of Irem's PSN games (Spelunker HD is an example, but I can't find it in PSN), but I also have read that Irem is in danger of closing.

    Yeah I've heard people use that as a reason you should buy this "before its too late."

    I'm tempted to, just for being the only legit home release of R-Type Leo, but damn this stuff is why I hate DLC. Fortunately I have R-Types and R-Type Delta on actual PS1 discs.
