    ^^^ A lot.  Thank God for that too, because I like them.

    Though, it's not a genre, as Fireworks pointed out.  It's just an aesthetic that some shows have.  It can belong to shows of any genre at all, really.

    Also, moe doesn't imply a lack of characterization.  It's sort of associated with that, but that's mostly because most of the popular shows associated with the aesthetic (Lucky Star and K-ON!, in particular) are comedies, based on 4koma manga...  Not exactly a format known for deep characters.

    ^ There are... many many more shows that would be called "moe" than that.

    I looked at the anime list for last season for about 2 seconds and spotted like 10 shows that would probably be called moe.

    OK, blanket statements such as "I hate all moe" and the like are strictly forbidden unless the person in question can provide a clear and agreeable definition for "moe". Also, any and every fan of Haruhi is forbidden from making any negative comment regarding moe, particularly if they liked the movie.

    As in, Yuki Nagato's solution to every problem seems to be "god mode your way through it because you're a super powerful alien that can do anything."  And she's the author's favorite character.

    Then again, I've only watched the first season of the anime.  I can't imagine that changes much though.
