Till shade is gone, till water is gone, into the Shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath, to spit in Sightblinder’s eye on the last Day.
I just watched the first few episodes, and I'm not sure what to think.  The action is cool, but the dub isn't very good (apart from Crispin Freeman), and I find myself bored pretty much any time there aren't any monsters on screen.

Is it worth watching/does it get better?

  • I kinda liked it. Episode 32 was a shocker though.
  • It doesn't get any less slow, if that's what you're asking. It was OK, though.
  • Mr. The Edge goes to Washington
Then, Organization XIII from Kingdom Hearts appears!
  • Thane of rum-guzzling and necromancy
Just whatever you do, don't ever be fooled into watching Blood The Last Vampire. That film was awful.
  • He who laments and can't let go of the past is forever doomed to solitude.
Lies, the film was mediocre at worst, and mediocre at best, the character design was pretty much not pretty, though.
  • MORONS! I'VE GOT MORONS ON MY PAYROLL!
I actually liked the movie more than the anime for what it's worth. A good deal of the action scenes were real fun and I can put up with dodgy CGI, since not even the Transformers or the CGI Enterprise look real to me.

It goes on for about 30+ episodes and it feels slow at times, and while the parts with no chiropterans are admittingly slow, in general as the story moves along the monsters get more and more smarter, bulkier and monstrous. And new vampire-types are introduced. I haven't watched the sub because I downloaded the dub, but to be honest it's not too bad if you enjoyed the OVA. Don't expect it to fit into the same themes as other vampire stories or the OVA/movie though, because it's almost a completely different story. Still a good story nonetheless, and a very nice ending, with the awesome mixing of different intros and ending themes.

And when it comes to the Live Action movie, avoid it. The monsters look nothing like they should and they add a lot to the story that doesn't need to be there.

    holy shit vorpy

And I dunno.  I'll probably come back to it later.
  • yea i make potions if ya know what i mean
I saw a few episodes of this, but by the time I stopped watching AS (which is where I was watching it) had pulled it, and it didn't interest me enough to look it up again.

Seemed rather standard anime fare to me.
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
It's very standard, but the ending is heartwarming. Saya evolves quite a bit as the series goes along though, which is nice.

    And Bishounen everywhere
  • You can change. You can.
I watched a bit of it.

Wasn't interested. Mostly because the Spanish dub is stupid. And, because Animax aired it inconsistently.

Come to think of it, I felt that way about a lot of the stuff they aired on Adult Swim.

    There were exceptions, obviously.
  • ☭Unstoppable Sex Goddess☭
the director of Adult Swim doesn't like "weeaboo crap" so that's generally why he doesn't like airing so much anime much, except for FLCL, which he really liked for some reason.
  • You can change. You can.
FLCL is silly enough to fit in with AS's normal fare.
  • yea i make potions if ya know what i mean
Mm. Iiked FLCL, Ghost in the Shell (though, it came on late enough at night that, by the time it did, I was far too far gone to be able to understand what was going on), Cowboy BeBop, and Big O.

    The rest was simply "meh".

  • You can change. You can.
then again, AS in the US seemed to be different from the stuff we got here. It didn't focus on anime because Animax existed already anyway.
  • yea i make potions if ya know what i mean
Adult Swim never focused on anime, to my knowledge. I know they used to run a nightly block of it, though.

It's been cut down to Saturday Nights only, I believe.

Juancarlos, I too watched the animax broadcast, you know what? they aired the 50 episode series as ten weeks of 5 episodes a week. all in proper timeline. I don't find the dub to be stupid, saya sounds nasal, though, that I can agree.

If you want stupid dubs, go look for a clip of FateStayNight animax dub, Really, its awful.
