Repeatedly making the same thread with different names

This is not aimed at anyone specific, since many people have been guilty of this both here and in the old It Just Bugs Me subforum. It's one of the recurring issues that has consistently made these forums less enjoyable.

Okay, we get that something strongly bugs you and that nagging feeling isn't going to go away in one thread. But after 97 iterations of the same topic, what is there left to say? Just about every agreeing and contrary point has been brought up 1261 times. Yes, the forum is called "It Just Bugs Me", but it's still a discussion forum. Other people have their own views, which is likely going to be that of annoyance after the 108th complaint about (insert ____'s gonna ___ subject here). This isn't some Twitter-like site where you can just put any random thought out. And heck, we even have such a function outside the main forum: the status updates on the profile page. Why not use that instead?
