What merits the deservance of death? (DEATH PENALTY THREAD YAY)

edited 2011-02-20 16:11:29 in General
I have been divided on the whole idea every since.

The angsty misanthropic teenager side of me wants Death Penalties handed out because I want to look edgy and be negative and dissonant to the fate of others, and to cure my desire to see bad people die and proxy them as the people who made me feel bad.

The immoral heartless deadpan part of me wants people to be given the Death Penalty for more things rather than the most extreme of crimes because all in all, I do not value life and are indifferent to the general world, everything except me, because I am a solipsistic piece of shit with a narrow set of views.

The wholesome wannabe lady justice side of me wants the Death Penalty thrown out because everyone, no matter how bad they are, must be forced to sit out their lives in a cell forever to think about their crimes, otherwise they will never learn their lesson, and I can't slingshot my morals against said person if he's dead.

The overly devoted religious side of me wants it expelled because it is not the law's place to decide the death or life of a person based on their actions, or define their punishment on the level where their life is taken, regardless of how unforgiveable said person is, or how much I only care about my own status on going to heaven.
