A little dilema I have.

Being a sucker for Moe and cute girls, I wanna buy Arcana Heart 3 for the PS3 (only thing that sucks about it is no English dub).

And even better! I actually have a friend, and maybe even multiple friends, to play it with!

Except we're not that good.

So, I'm wondering. Do I buy the game, even though we probably won't get that much better, or should I pass up on it? It looks really fun...like every fighting game ever. But then I see Tourney-level play, and I always feel like I suck shit at the games when these pros bust out stuff way more awesome than I could hope to put out...

    Get that shit, ignore the tourney-level play, and only play with your friends. This is also how I play MMORPGs. Massive Multiplayer? All those other guys are just NPCs only more annoying.

    Besides,you'll have it in your house so you can practice alone and pown them

    Yeah, I play an MMO called Mabinogi with my wife and our friends. We're on a hiatus right now. Anyway, we are behind on the storyline quests and probably very low-tier characters, but we don't usually play with randoms and we have our own individual goals in mind and don't let other players effect us too much.


    Chagen, if you are going to like this game then like it. Don't let other online players turn you off on it. It's your fun after all!

    Really?

    That kind of surprises me, since I thought it was Sony policy to only allow games to be published if they have an English voice track (at least in the USA, anyway).  Though I guess they could have changed that, since the last time I heard about that was a longish time ago.  That said, even if that rule was still in effect, they'd just make a really shitty no-budget English track that they don't intend anyone to listen to.

    Also, I'm pretty Arksys localized it. You know, the guys who also localized BlazBlue, which has a very good dub.

    Don't worry about tourney-level play, just focus on choosing a character and Arcana that works for you first. After that, you can start with the combos.

    I'm predicting you're going to start with Akane. I main Maori (Sin) and Konoha (Plant?), myself.

    Quite a bit, especially if you main Tao.

    The first game is a lot of fun (it was actually my first serious fighting game), but not as good as the third. The second got a terrible console port.
