IJAM: I'm getting similar feelings of concerned sympathy as before
Sorry for the awkward thread title, but it does kinda make me feel better and brighter. I don't know why.
I first had this feeling when I learned about Asuka's role in Neon Genesis Evangelion and the End of Evangelion, the wrong way. I first read this commentary site where the author is deeply sympathetic to her, and I became deeply sympathetic to her (and still am). And I got this really interesting feeling from that feeling of concerned sympathy combined with
Franki Love's song "Shadow".
For some reason, I think I'm getting this same feeling, albeit without a clear target, after watching Uta~Kata, and then listening to the song again. And this feeling is rather magically refreshing.
(By the way, I recommend not looking at the video when listening to that song. I don't think her smiling in certain parts of the song is appropriate to the mood. But whatever.)
I guess it's refreshing in kinda a similar way to how I've had other times when I felt a strong emotion from a work of fiction. One notable example is how Pokémon (of all things) and its whole schticks about "being the very best" and defeating one's rivals actually was a major motivating factor as I went through high school.

Are you saying I should have used spoiler tags?
Also, that Asuka fansite is here: http://www.windsong.demon.co.uk/nge/bloodandfire.html . Now THAT contains spoilers.
and I've been calling her Akasuka for awhile.
@Vorpy: where're you on Evangelion anyway?
Got distracted by TF2, and fish.
