    The awkwardness is because the use of "more" implies some sort of comparsion. Your mind expects "we lose more [blank] that way than [other way]."

    I always assumed that the more was being implied as a, "This has the highest fatality/loss rate out of every regular task so far"
  • "We lose more new users because of Troper Tales."

    "How did you know they were potential new users? How did you know that's the only thing that drives them away? Where are your statistics and research to back up this claim?"
  • There's also "I'm sorry to say this but."
