Or more specifically, a Salamander anime though I read that the second and third episodes are based on Gradius I and II (Salamander is the game that kinda-sorta became Life Force on the NES). And the main character's name is "Lord British."  If Richard Garriott found out, would he laugh or cry?

    Finished the first episode last night. While it's not the greatest OVA I've seen, it's still pretty awesome. I especially like that it actually uses levels and enemies from the game (I wish more Hollywood game-based movies would do that... you'd never see floating-skull-thing in Hollywood's Life Force, that's for sure).
