I just found a copy of Chrono Cross at Goodwill!

Mr. The Edge goes to Washington

I bought that shit! Dropped $2.17 for it! Both discs (not scratched) , case not broken, no booklet though.

The real tragedy was that there was a copy of Legend of Dragoon, but disc 2 was missing. Bastards!

    Physical copy?

$2.17 is at least $3 too much to pay for Chrono Cross.

I take it that you don't like Chrono Cross. I'm sure you have your reasons.

My reasons are that I do like Chrono Trigger.

TBH I haven't actually played Cross (don't have the proper system), but knowing even a little bit about the plot...not happening.

I used to feel that way too. I think Chrono Trigger is the best console RPG of all time. However, it's been enough years now I feel that I should at least give Cross a shot as it is trying to be an indirect sequel and such.

I purchased a copy of Oregon Trail II for my wife. I hope it will run on Windows XP.
  • Likes cheesecake unironically.
I can't say that I like what Chrono Cross does to Chrono Trigger and it sure hampers my interest in the game, but I wouldn't reject it outright. Given the chance, I would try it out.

So, I've clocked a few hours and I must say, it is pretty good. The level-less system is nice because you really only have to fight bosses, but you gain additional stats from fighting any battles. The Element system is very interesting. It's like items and spells all rolled into one. THe recruitable characters often leave me saying "Chrono Cross: It's that kind of a game." And the multiple ways of accomplishing goals is always a welcome experience. I'm not too far into the story, but I see where it is going. I can see why fans of Trigger don't like this game, but even so, it's fun and it's over ten years old. Time to let go.
  • Well I liked Chrono Cross!

    Good for you Edgy~! >w<
  • ^^ Don't worry. It gets worst. I hasn't just quite reached the point where it goes in the metaphysic and takes a dump over Chrono Trigger.
