Yeah, there were a rare few lecture-hall classes I took where I wasn't either drawing or surfing the web the entire time, and I wound up graduating with honors. More often than not those classes were a consummate waste of oxygen.
It's supposed to be. I mean, they're dealing with students who supposedly have the drive by now to not have to be dragged through it and are expected to pull their weight, but the professor's job is quite unambiguously to teach you.
Problem is, we've fallen into a rut where college education has reversed from a service that you pay for into an ugly, bloated thing where you forking out money is the service to them while they hold the few relevant credentials hostage. Basically, the student is now the product rather than the customer.
