I can't play Hydrophobia: Prophecy
So earlier I mentioned this game because it was on my Steam wishlist (back then) and was on sale but I couldn't get the funds in time. Well, IanExMachina bought the game for me (thanks!) and I repaid him through PayPal. And I also learned that Steam games are more expensive
There are just two problems with this, though.
1. My computer can't run this game for shit apparently. Even putting all graphics settings on lowest possible (at least I think so), with the screen really fuzzy and stuff, I still get silly effects like an object flying through the air two seconds before Kate picks up a nothing and moves it in the same direction as the object went two seconds ago.
...and then there's the fact that apparently I can't even make it out of the elevator at the beginning of the game. I don't know what happened, but presumably I got a game over because I immediately respawned at my last save. Which is right at the beginning of the game.
2. I think I'm starting to figure out what gives me headaches with 3D games--it's when the camera is wonky and disorienting. Turns out to be a dull surprise, huh.
And there is--or now was--an achievement in H:P that could have gotten me one more entry in the Steam Summer Camp sweepstakes. Oh well.
