not sure what to get next for the PSP

no longer cuddly, but still Edmond
So I got a PSP just recently. Currently, I own: Star Ocean: First Departure Star Ocean: Second Evolution Metal Gear Acid (both of them) Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker Aaaaaaaaand I just picked up Gradius Collection. So, what I'm looking for ATM is either RPGs, racing games (I tend to prefer fantasy physics but realism is okay), any game with a sort of casual/pick-up-and-play feel to it, or anything unique to the PSP that is really good (and isn't by Square-Enix). Recommends?

Apparently Tales of Eternia got a European release but not an American one. I'm not sure if the PSP is region locked, but if you do some searching around ebay you might be able to find a copy.

Oh! Tales of the World 3 got a english release I think.  And of course there's Persona 3 Portable.

    Tales of Eternia

I so hate that title (not the game, mind you, just its title), because I read it and I know that it's not the real Eternia.

(A J-RPG based on that would be pretty awesome, actually)

Might still pick it up at some point though. Always room for another JRPG in this library...

    Well, I...

    and isn't by Square-Enix

...Oh. There is not really that much outside of SE titles, that aren't PS/PS2 re-releases and remakes (and even then many of SE PSP games are just that). I found Loco Roco pretty enjoyable, though. Also, I heard that Echochrome and Holy Invasion of Privacy, Badman! are pretty good, but I never played them myself.

It seems to me like if you cut out Square-Enix, there's still a lot of worthwhile stuff. I just can't decide what to get next.

I saw a two-pack about a game where you control a blob of mercury. That might be up my alley.

    Bumping for question:

Are any of the FPS games like SOCOM or Medal of Honor any good on PSP, or should I stick to just their console versions? (I've never played a single game in either franchise)

There is also Dracula X Chronicles. It's pretty good, hard but never unfair and has Symphony of the Night and the original version Rondo of Blood in it (although one has to find them first).

The only FPS game that I played on it, is the one game by Konami (I forgot the name) with randomized levels. It's pretty fun, but not outstanding.

    Mercury Meltdown.
