Ignoring all the gameplay concerns, it runs like shit. I have a friend who has a god PC capable of running Crysis at rather high settings at a framerate that makes me weep with awe, and yet DNF makes it chug even at medium settings, jesus christ, the load times. What in the fuck?

I apologize if I am misusing the word optimization in this context, I'm not exactly hep to the lingo.

    DNF is the penultimate game to use Unreal Engine 2, which hasn't been updated or optimized in years. It's the only explanation I can think of, but then again Bioshock 2 also used it and it ran fine, at least on consoles.
