So someone showed up on Yack Fest for the first time today, claiming to be someone who lurked a lot and acting in a very trollish manner. But there's no real proof of trolling. Is there anything you're supposed to do if you suspect someone of trolling but can't prove it?

    Basically, a thread was progressing in a civil and friendly manner, then this Riri 42 guy shows up with his first post ever (now thumped), and started bashing the OP. When asked who he was, he explained that he was someone who read the fora a lot for a good while, but had never posted until that made him decide to (which, in conjunction with everything else, I'm inclined to read as "I got banned and I'm back to start shit"). He then said that the mods could ban him if they wanted and he didn't care (which I read as "I know I'm being a dick and violating the forum rules with my first post, but I don't care about your 'friendly, civil forum'"). The thread is now locked, pretty much entirely because of the chain of events this guy triggered. His posts are all thumped, but he still seems to be around and posting.

    IIRC, Charlatan was basically saying the same stuff, but without the new-accountness that makes my troll alarm go off.

    The new guy had the first remotely negative post in the thread. Now that I think about it, I'm not sure what Charlatan was saying, but it came after and was in response to Riri.

    Well if he was being a Charlatan mimic, Charlie's not a troll. He's just temperamental enough to make me look perfectly level headed and consistent.
