The Weight units used in New Vegas.

edited 2011-07-07 07:17:39 in Media
This is bugging the crap out of me. on the gold bars in dead money it says they way 10 ounces. HOwever in game they weight 35 in game units which raises the qeustion what exactly does the game use to measure weight?

Each unit would weigh about 8 grams. But I haven't played New Vegas, so I can't compare it with other items to see if that's actually reasonable or if the developers want you to ignore those kinds of things.
  • The game just uses arbitrary numbers for the weights, rather than being based on anything specific.  It's mostly a game balance thing, rather than a realism thing.
  • I have to say, weightless ammo/healing items was actually an improvement in Fallout3/new Vegas. Then again, you could have something like 6 Companions to mule stuff around for you in Fallout 2, plus a car, so it really wasn't much of an issue.
