Actually, they more than just bug me; they scare the bejesus out of me. This is seriously one of the scariest things humans are capable of, at least to me. I'm glad I live way up in Maine where it's relatively unheard of.

Ironically enough, Durarara!! is one of my favorite shows.

It's a little annoying when people talk about how gang members are really just pushovers who can't fight, or whatever, in light of all the utterly insane shit that they do to people who actually have to deal with them on a daily basis.
  • They tend to be pushovers who can't fight when they're against a fighting master (and have no guns or explosives or whatever that gives a huge advantage) or when they have police with weapons on their asses.

The people who say they are such are oftentimes not these police and fighting masters.

^^ And even if they were pushovers, they still generally have an advantage in numbers and weaponry against anyone who isn't a member from a rival gang or a cop or something.

^ I . . . am quite glad that gangs don't make use of explosives, as far as I'm aware. That would be horrifying.
  • What about gang members that are fighting masters or ex-military?

^ I saw an episode of Gangland that dealt with ex-army men returning to their gangs and using the tactics they'd learned to carry out business. I hadn't even thought of that, and I still wish I hadn't learned of it.
  • I honestly didn't expect it to be a common occurrence, but I guess it makes sense that that could happen.
  • Give us fire! Give us ruin! Give us our glory!
You'd think that the military would catch gang members in their background checks.

^^ I don't remember it being that common, but it makes sense in a way, yeah.

^ If I remember the episode correctly, the military just plain doesn't give a shit. Or they think the "ex"-gangsters have been reformed once they've had military experience.
