The linguistic turn

edited 2011-07-04 10:44:25 in Philosophy
Locking philosophy inside the castle of culture and meaning was a bad idea in the first place, but I can see why it was done. But I draw the line when pretty much everyone starts becoming nitpicking skeptical grammarians.

I am so glad it appears to be ending.

  • Hmm... So this is basically about philosophers paying attention to how things get miscommunicated in language.

I guess it makes sense to an extent, considering how poorly defined concepts of love, fate, evil, and god can be, but the way these articles are written makes me skeptical.

Can you give me an example of the kind of stuff that bothers you?
