So, up to the "Femslash has nothing to do with lesbian sex and everything to do with men..." part, I was like "Okay sure, whatever.  Not really accurate, but whatever."

    Then wut?
  • 1) Men are repressed?
In many ways, yes they are. Though I also completely fail to make a meaningful connection between "enjoying girl on girl action" and "wanting to be dominated".

Does this pass the genderflip test? (my answer is no, what do you think?)
  • Also lololol yaoi is so much less sexist.

^^ As in, would that person think the same thing about slash/yaoi regarding female fans?  Yeah, definitely not.

@snowbull: Be fair, the person making the banner may hate Yaoi too, making that somewhat of a moot arguament.
  • Yeah, that's possible.  It doesn't mean that banner would be any less stupid though.
  • Sure, I was just trying to avoid falling into that trap.
  • Also lololol yaoi is so much less sexist.

Which, of course, does not invalidate the claim that yuri/girl on girl/whatever is sexist.

I still wan't an explanation regarding the dominating thing.
  • I dunno.  I like yuri, and I'd rather be dominated than the opposite.  So maybe they're on to something? (only no, they really aren't)
  • Where'd the image come from?

Taking a guess, I'd say Fandom Secrets.  Mostly going by the fact that the filename has "secret" in it and it's fandom related.

^^^^Yes, but singling yuri out is suspicious, especially given the way yuri/yaoi fanhumans tend to act.

^I should've just made this a general Fandom Secrets topic.

    What does this even mean
  • edited 2011-02-12 15:14:15
Someone doesn't like listening to audiobook versions of erotic fanfiction because it embarrasses them.

    Er... I think.

Nothing will ever convince me that podfic is not rule34 involving apple products.

Holy shit this thing is a goldmine. I haven't laughed this hard in ages. Is the rest of Livejournal this great?
  • That's what I thought too when I first saw it.  It took a minute or so of thinking before I realized what it actually is.
  • Dang, no way to interact with the person who posted it, then.
  • I think they were discussing it in the comments
  • Livejournal's comment system is extremely confusing to me.
  • I like hearing people discuss how to make parody fandom secrets.

"you are missing the misspellings left in from a heat-of-the-moment typing up, multiple
shitty fonts, referring to yourself in the third person as "anon,"
color choices that make it hard to read (you picked colors that all
stand out), and of course all of the lingo (adj noun is adj; wtf,
self???; f!s/b!s/s!b; misuse of the word "trigger;" I judge you; etc.)"

I also like how this parody is indistinguishable from the real thing.

It was originally supposed to be Jade, but he thought making it Vriska would give it a more authentic Fandom Secrets feel.

And in the interests of gender equality:

So the pic in the OP was trolling. Glad I could clear that up. Pretty crappy trolling though. It didn't even really make much sense.

I do not think I truly understood the nature of passive aggression until now.

Is this one for or against fat people cosplaying or what?
  • It did fail the test!

Nice to finally shed some light on this.

Cosfat was never my favorite. Don't do it unironically, please.

    *raises hand before Miya*
  • What if it's a girl who's into yuri?

    *raises hand*
