    I think that one could describe something as "secular Muslim" since Muslim can also refer to cultural things that are not part of Islam per se. I do not know how something or someone could be secular and fundamentalist though, let alone, secular, fundamentalist, and Islamic.

    I think that description is especially strange given some of the paranoia about shari'a law in the U.S., given that shari'a is certainly not secular.

    By the way, here is some context in case anyone is interested. While it might not be the exact comments that Malkavian mentioned, I could not find the exact phrase mentioned here in a search so I think it will do for now.
